This is a cox-burr growing at the release site. It has signs of leaf damage similar to the tingid damage on the CC. This may be totally unrelated but I thought it was worth documenting. Even if there was minor damage to the surrounding vegetation the plants would be better off in the long run.
DPI testing showed Tingid could hatch on other species of plant but would die long before adulthood.

The vine covered stump we used as the main release site fell over some time between 2-dec-07 and 2-feb-08. I'm not sure if it happened before, during or after the main flood.

This shows leaf damage (the white leaves) from nymphs. This went underwater and mud is still visible on some leaves. I saw no tingids here.

A small number of adult Tingids were released on CC vines in the out house on 2'nd Dec 07. This appears to be adult feeding damage to the leaves but no signs yet of nymphs. Adults can live for almost two months so it is still possible there are eggs present.
